Terms of Service

Last updated Oct 11, 2026

The short version: your work stays yours, submit honestly, and we reserve the right to review, edit lightly, or decline anything that breaks the free-tier rules.

Using the site

Half Dev is free to read and free to submit to. Don't impersonate someone else, submit content you don't have the right to share, or use the site to distribute anything illegal or knowingly false.

Submitting a story

Ownership: you retain full ownership of anything you submit — see our FAQ for the plain-language version. By submitting, you grant Half Dev a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and lightly edit your submission (typos, formatting, trimming self-promotional lines per the rule below) for as long as it remains published. You're free to republish the same content elsewhere — we don't require exclusivity.

Accuracy: submit your own honest account. Don't submit content on someone else's behalf without their knowledge, and don't misrepresent outcomes.

Free-tier rule: free submissions can't include backlinks, product pitches, or company promotion in the body — byline only. A moderator reviews every submission and may request changes, decline, or trim promotional content before publishing, consistent with what's stated on /submit.

Removal: you can request your submission be taken down at any time by contacting us. If a published piece is later found to be materially inaccurate, we'll correct or remove it per our corrections policy, not edit it silently.

Featured stories

Featured is an editorial selection. Being featured doesn't change the ownership or accuracy terms above. If paid placements are ever introduced, they will be clearly labeled as paid.

No professional advice

Content on this site reflects individual experiences and opinions, not professional, legal, or financial advice. What worked for one build may not work for yours — use your own judgment.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we'll update the date above rather than editing them silently.
